Engineer's day

Today mine final semester results are also announced, I am glad to see myself as an recognised engineer now. As one of the guy posted this in our c'nity I would like to share this with you all.

This may sound strange to some of you... but it's true... Engineer's day. But for me... it a more perplexing that this day has its meaning within India only. September 15th is designated as Engineers Day honouring to the birthday of one of genius mind of India and greatest engineer of all time Dr. MV. Visvesvaraya. Even Leonardo Da Vinci  is undoubtedly considered as the greatest engineer who dared to think beyond time.

I am not so aware of Sir Visvaraya's life but know some facts like
The Bhadravati Steel Factory, Mysore University, Krishnarajasagara, the Bank of Mysore - every one of his creations was mighty and magnificent. But far mightier and far more magnificent was the Bharata Ratna, who was at once a matchless Dreamer and Doer.
MV gave thousands of families food, he gave thousands and thousands of students education. Tens of thousands of houses were brightened with electricity because of him. And he led the country to the path of progress.

Visvesvaraya was a genius. The Block System which he invented, the automatic doors which he devised to stop wasteful overflow of water, the water supply and drainage system which he planned for the city of Aden - these won high praise from engineers all over the world. The Krishnarajasagara Dam is a brilliant proof of his genius.

He once said "Remember, your work may be only to sweep a railway crossing, but it is your duty to keep it so clean that no other crossing in the world is as
clean as yours

So I wish it is also a memorial day for India. So wish you all happy engineers day and may this day fulfill your dreams{specially for those, who are already in engineering field}.... and rest..... there is no need to wish... I think you already having everyday of your life as engineering day
