As India emerge out be as a largest BPO hub. More and more number of companies eyeing on Indian youth, who is good in communication skills, what these MNC's want them to deliver. So the the number of youngsters attracted toward this industry, as a career. Since the salary is good, and thats what a youngster looks for at the starting edge of his/her job. Mostly the girls are much prefered candidates in this industry because of their politeness and sweet voice. Even guys are more in number in this industry but the ratio of guys and gals is bit better than other industries.
AID/HIV case are still incrreasing and it can hardly be said as of now that we some how manage to control the rising number of these cases. And this is more severe amoung the youngsters of age group 20 to 30. And a majority of this age group is working in call centres.A survey shows that more than 1.5 million people works in call centres are at risk of AIDS/HIV. Many of you say what gibrish I m talking about. But yes this is true. As youngsters working in call centres are sexually active and are prone to have unprotected sex with multiple partners who work in the same organisation. As they used to work in night shifts, so at the end of the shift most of the guys used to left the organisation with thier partners. And then used to sleep with them. When I was studying, one of my friend works in call centre, he told me that one day a girl come with him and slept with him, so concerning on this I can say that, this is a common practice for the other guys too.
Many of these affairs develop during night shifts when these young workers "are huddled together". As all are educated and thus well aware of sex. But there may arise such type of circumstances that they can't control themselves. Even sometimes they do all this to enjoy life and for fun. Group of young men and women rent appartments along the beach on the weekends and end up having sex with multiple partners. If they are having sex just among themselves and all are non-infected, than its ok. But if there is one person who has gone out of this group and brought in the virus, it will speard to everyone.
Also these youngsters are regular smokers, and most of them have drugs and other such things. Not even the guys but even the gals in this industry used to smoke often. Already call centre industry had a bad reputation on these assertions.
Many people feel that its not good to blame the entire industry for this, but they are well aware of the fact that youngsters working in call centres are more vulnerable to AIDS/HIV. Even there were people who says that call centres can be described as new hubs from which AID/HIV is emanating. Young people are sexually active and are at grater risk.
So before the situation go worse, their work must be properly supervised and monitored.
