Why does this girl keep on pointing at me?

When I was in school, a girl named ratnesh( name changed) kept on pointing at me every time I pass. First day I ignored this, but this happens everyday. Then I need to think on this, I am a bit shy with girls, there were many things that comes to my mind that day, when I seriously thought about that girl. A guy in school is much concerned about his looks so as I, thus I aksed some of my male friends about my looks, but they simply answers that I am fine with my looks, but I still hesitate to ask my co-friends about that girl's issue. This might be possible that many of my friends are aware of this. I am still a bit confused about this, may be my friends lied me as they don't want to hurt me. Even I ask this from my mother whom I used to share most of the things, but I guess no mother dislikes his son. So she also denied this. I am still confused and keeps on thinking about this. Then one thing comes to my mind, that why she's the only girl out of a bunch of 24 girls in our class stares at me. If I looks so different from other boys in the class, there may be some of the other girls besides her or even some boys must looks the same way she was looking at me. Now after this I finds myself a bit confident about myself, I am still confused about this issue, but dropped the idea of my looks.

But still I continued thinking on that, but not able to find out any reason for this. Every time that girl looks at me, my mind thinks more and more about her. I am seriously getting mad over this, then I am not able to hold this as secret from my close friend. I told him all this, and within a fraction he said that she likes me. I am shocked at this answer. After that I used to think about that girl more often then I was used to think about her before telling hearing my friends answer. May be after that I also starts liking her, but neither me nor her got the guts to reveals feeling to the other.

I soon left that school and that city due to my fathers transfer, as he's in army. Neither me nor her told about their feelings, I still thinks about her sometimes, may she also thinks about me. So whenever you are confused about such things go and ask the concerning person, better dealing with others, as you got a variety of answers. But one more thing I am a bit confused why she had such feelings at that age when I hardly thought about such things. Is this is true that girls thought about these things much before the age of boys? There might be any other reason of staring at me, but I can't conclude this with any specific reason for this.
