Many of my friends keen to get into government jobs, and as most of them are adventure loving so want to get enroll into Armed forces. This is not because we all really want to join army, but the slowdown in private sector forced us to rethink on our career prospectives. Also the sixth pay commission is responsible for the same. Many youngster hesitate to join Indian Army because of the money barrier, but now this is not an issue, and the security in job in public sector forced these youngsters to think again. Already the Armed Forces as a whole facing a shortage of about 15,000 officers. Many officers quit army before time, last year, around 1,200 officers sought premature retirement.
The years of economic boom were a tough time for the armed forces. Now, in the winter of economic gloom, things are looking up for armed forces. Rattled by disappearing jobs in private sector, several officers are withdrawing requests for premature retirement. Moreover, with the sixth pay commission holding out the promise of lucrative salaries, the number of those eager to join the services are beginning to rise as the security of government job entices the middle class once again. This is the happy situation for the armed forces, which have been facing a severe manpower crunch for the past few years.
Even I am looking to get into government sector after all sort of things taking place in private sector. Everyday job cuts in news by the biggies, also the ILO(International Labour Organisation) announced that over 50mn may lose jobs by the end of this year. So its a better option to get into government sector. I am also a bit interested in joining Indian army before too, also appeared for the same, but not able to crack the SSB last time, but now I am looking forward for the same again. As my father is also in Defence, and he want me to be a part of army, so I rethink on my decision of being in private sector, and now keen to get into army.

Well whatever may be the reasons, armed forces are delighted because of this slowdown in private sector. Also the less interest of youngsters is reversed after this slowdown.
