TVS Motor Company on Friday reported its highest-ever monthly sales of 1,88,005 units in September, 30.78% higher than the same month last year.
Domestic two-wheeler sales in September, 2010, stood at 1,65,418 units, up 25.05% in comparison to sales of 1,32,281 units in the same month of 2009.
The company said exports of two-wheelers during the month rose by 88.52% to 19,365 units from 10,272 units in September, 2009.
Two-wheeler maker Suzuki Motorcycle India has reported a 44.99% growth in sales to 22,534 units in September, compared to 15,542 units in the same month last year.
``We believe in bringing `value` to our customers and we have proven so with our products. We will continue to keep up this growth momentum in future,`` Suzuki Motorcycle India Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Atul Gupta, said in a statement.
The company attributed the growth to the good response for its motorcycle GS150R, scooter Access125 and recently launched bike SlingShot, the statement said.
The country`s largest car-maker, Maruti Suzuki India, reported its highest-ever monthly sales of 1,08,006 units in September, translating into a 29.65% increase vis-a-vis the year-ago period.
``This is the highest ever total monthly sales by the company. The previous highest was 1,04,791 units in August, 2010,`` it added.
This was the fourth time this fiscal that the company`s monthly sales figure crossed the one lakh mark.
The A2 segment (comprising the Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz) witnessed a 31.26% growth.
A3 segment sales (consisting of MSI`s SX4 and DZiRE models) increased by 43.16%.
Hyundai Motor India`s, the country`s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter total sales for September 2010 stood at 51,441 units as against 53,802 units in September 2009 registering a decline of 4.40%. The domestic sales accounted for 31,751 units as against 27,803 units in September 2009 while the exports dipped by 24.3% from 25,999 units in September 2009 to 19,690 units in September 2010.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor today reported an 8.47% jump in its sales at 6,235 units during September, 2010. The company had sold 5,748 units in the corresponding month last year.
