Impact of Reliance Jio on Indian citizens

I work in Australia and frequently visit India to meet family and friends over here. But whenever I
used to come, I was not able to work from home. My hometown in a small village in Jhunjhunu distt of Rajasthan. I visited BSNL office couple of times to get the internet wired connection at my home but they always stated that providing wired connection only to you in your village is costly and cannot do that. If I am able to get 5 more customers from my village they'll think on my application. I had given up on that. My village has Idea tower, connectivity of airtel and vodafone is good enough for voice calls. But they don't provide 3G services, hence can't do anything.

This year when I visited my village in March, I was shocked to see that Jio tower was installed in my village. I got curious to check the speed to the internet in my village. I bought JioFi dongle and when I used it, I was surprised with the speed of internet. I interacted with other youngsters from my village and they also started using internet. The speed in which Jio connected people over net is amazing.

Now I am able to work from home and can take longer breaks. I am able attend conference calls, video calls etc. with Jio network. And the best part is they haven't charged anything as of Mar 2017. I got prime membership and recharge my JioFi dongle with Rs 303 and this is enough for me.

Importantly, other networks have started upgrading their services at least in cities. Their data plans/ talk time offers also drastically decreased.

Jio making Digital India. This will surely help India grow.
