Office Timings : In the name of 9 to 5

If you are a full time employee you’ll easily understand where I am going with this heading. But this is true these days, that people find it very difficult to balance their professional life and personal life. These days, people don’t get time to spend with their families. I don’t know about other companies, but this exists with me.

Office Timings is really a big issue. In big enterprises, this is a slightly bigger issue. You are being noticed by your supervisor every time, if you are working in a small scale office, so you’ll come on time, but the other understanding also exists in small enterprises, that work load is a bit higher so the timings are not a concern, if you are doing your work sincerely. But in large scale organization, whether you are doing your work or not, people will point you if you come late.

A similar incident happened with me also, but before I move to the incident, I would like to suggest something. Always reply back, when something against or in favor of you, is said by someone. People will only point finger on you, if you listen to them without retaliating. They never say anything to those people who reply them back in their language.

So, I was onsite, working on a project, day and night, no one ever mentioned that if I stayed overnight, no one dropped me a mail regarding that. But that is obvious that no one will praise your hard work. This continues till 6 months, and I never received a mail or complaint from any one that why I am staying late nights or coming back from home after leaving office after 10 or 11 PM. Our office timings are 9AM - 5PM. I used to come between 9AM to 10AM and leave around 10PM due to some work assignments, and I never complained, as I love the work assigned to me.

But from the last one month, I started following timings due to ease of work pressure, but whenever I am loaded with assignments; I sit late nights and completed my work. Also, I started coming before 9AM and leaving around 7PM. Although, there are other people in the office, I don’t want to talk about them, but its self understood to you people. So, one day I was not feeling well, so I thought of taking a break. But suddenly I realized that there is some work assigned to me, so I cam office after lunch. But the next day, I was seriously not feeling well and took a day off, also I dint informed anyone that I am not coming to office.

Next day when I opened my mailbox, I am surprised to see a mail stating that I am spoiling the environment coming late to office. These things really hurt, when you really work hard. When you are working on Saturday’s without any pay and also not allowed to fill the report that time in records. You seriously feel this. It really hurts me, but I can’t help it, may be because I never replied back to any one regarding these issues. I don’t know where I was wrong. After checking the mail I decided to write this, because when you don’t have anyone close to you to talk about all this, you need to spit it out of your mind to ease yourself.

Decide yourself, Is I am wrong anywhere?

Image Source: Google Images I am pretty sure its hard to believe, but its true, that India has offered 800 sheep and 59 yaks to China. 1962 war with China will remain in the memories of most of the Indians. Although China was not able to gain any strategic advantage after the war. Hence China keeps on waiting or rather creating these small issues to take advantage out of them.
